Originally from Stratford upon Avon, Nicholas Shaw has painted all of his life, though he has not had any formal training.  The compulsion to paint has always been part his life and has continued to grow.  He is strongly drawn to the effects of light on the Cumbrian fells where he lives and works. His work is published in various formats from cards, posters, and book illustrations.  As a result Nicholas’s work can be found in many private collections, having been exhibited widely over the years with the occasional solo show.
